What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a Leadership Coach, working with leaders in organisations who wish to become more effective leaders of themselves and others.
Tell us about yourself
I have extensive corporate leadership experience and have always loved leading and developing people. I left the corporate world 4 years ago, severely burnt out - after my recovery, I felt that I wanted to do something that was more sustainable for my young family and me and really focus on what I loved doing - developing inspiring leaders who make a difference to those around them.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Working with people and watching them transform is my greatest accomplishment - it is a privilege to walk alongside someone as they grow, face the barriers that have held them back in the past and become more of who they are. It doesn't matter what level someone is at - if they want to grow, they can - and getting help in that process creates an acceleration that they couldn't create on their own.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
It's the ambiguity about what the future holds and the trust that things will work out - there will always be a steady stream of clients through the door, and I will continue to grow my business. Sometimes you feel confident in that... other times you wonder!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Just start. You'll learn along the way, and nothing is irreversible.
- Do what you love, what fascinates you, and what you'd love to stay up all night reading about. It can be all-consuming, and given the challenges, you'll want to feel passionate about it.
- You don't need to have an end game in mind. You'll course correct a million times - needing to know the future is paralysing and impossible - be flexible as you go, and you'll end up in the right place.
