What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are an independently owned and operated boutique fitness studio that offers a well-rounded class schedule. CAPE COD'S 1ST AND ONLY "NIGHT CLUB STYLE" FITNESS STUDIO, we encourage and accommodate all fitness levels in our welcoming environment.

Tell us about yourself

I have always had a passion for fitness and love to help people. I worked for various gyms/fitness facilities on and off Cape. Once I established a loyal following, it seemed like the next natural step was to branch off and create a space that I could call my own. Helping and encouraging people to stay healthy and active has always been my goal and motivation. Growing this incredible (healthy) community is my motivation. They show up every day (some doing back-to-back classes) and giving 150% each time. They continue to inspire me to be better with each passing day. I owe my success to them and, of course, my supportive family who has been behind me from the beginning.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I had a few since our inception, not quite four years ago. First, I was humbled and grateful to be named Cape Cod's Best Fitness Center the first year I opened in 2018. It was such an honor and testament to what I had created in the fitness industry as our local community voted on it. And with that being said, I really feel like the community we have created here at the studio is far beyond anything I could have imagined. We are judgment-free, welcoming to all, and accommodate all fitness levels. Not only do we have an incredible group of members, but our team of instructors is some of the best around. It continues to show in the support and loyalty from our amazing members.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I think anyone owning a business over the last few years of this pandemic has had a tremendous amount of challenges. The fitness industry certainly was no exception and maybe even took a harder hit than many. Fitness is an integral part of staying healthy and during this time, even more so. With that being said, we learned to pivot constantly, trying to offer classes that would allow everyone to feel safe yet somewhat normal. We moved classes outside during the nicer weather, offered virtual classes during the inclement weather, and then gradually went back into the studio. It definitely wasn't easy, but we managed to get through it with our amazing group of dedicated instructors. They would keep me motivated and positive during many challenging days. I appreciate them all so much!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

First, I would say the most important thing would be to do something you have a passion for. If you don't love what you do, it's hard to put your heart and soul into it.

Second, having a great support system is key. Having someone, you can trust to tell you the good or the bad is so important. Whether it be your spouse, friend group, etc...surround yourself with great people.

Third, be persistent and learn how to overcome challenges. That's what encourages growth and success. It's not easy to take the plunge in opening your own business, but hard work, sacrifice, and staying true to yourself are what make it all worthwhile in the end.
