What's your business, and who are your customers?
The Spirit Diet™ is a full-spectrum wellness brand that promotes Enlightened Consumption™ and emphasizes the importance of personalized herbal regimens, detox protocols, and total-body wellness. We offer coaching, consultation, courses, and community to help individuals achieve optimal wellness for their Mind, Body, and Spirit. Our customers are individuals who are looking to take control of their health and transform their lives. We work with a diverse range of clients, including celebrities, entrepreneurs, professional athletes, executives, and social media personalities. We believe that wellness is personal, and we take a holistic approach to total-body wellness, taking into account the impact of what we eat, drink, think, see, hear, feel, and absorb on our quality of life and overall longevity.
Tell us about yourself
I started my business, The Spirit Diet because I have a deep passion for helping people achieve optimal health and wellness. My own journey toward wellness began over two decades ago when I embraced a plant-based lifestyle and stopped eating meat. Since then, I have explored and incorporated vegetarian, vegan, and raw food diets, as well as doing lengthy liquid cleanses several times a year since I was 21. I became a certified health coach in 2012 and worked with clients, which showed me that wellness is more than just what we eat - it's a personal and spiritual journey that encompasses all aspects of our lives. That's why I launched The Spirit Diet in 2014, a full-spectrum wellness brand that promotes Enlightened Consumption and is rooted in over two decades of first-hand experience and application of my philosophy to my own life and the lives of others.
What motivates me each day is seeing the transformative power of my work on the lives of my clients. I am passionate about helping people take control of their health and transform their lives, and I believe that The Spirit Diet offers a unique approach to total-body wellness that is personalized, inclusive, and rooted in the power of plant empowerment.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
For me, there have been several milestones that I'm proud of, such as starting my own juice cleanse, bringing testing to my services, and getting office space. However, I believe that my biggest accomplishment is surviving and trusting my vision. Running a business is not easy, and there have been many challenges along the way. But despite the obstacles, I've been able to persevere and stay true to my goals. This has allowed me to build a successful business that I'm proud of and has positively impacted the lives of my customers.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner for me is not having the capital to bring my biggest dreams to fruition yet. It can be frustrating when I have a grand vision for my business but lack the financial resources to make it a reality. However, I try to stay positive and focus on the steps I can take in the meantime to keep moving forward and building toward my goals.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
As a business owner, my top 3 tips for anyone looking to start, run, and grow a business today are:
- Persistence is key - don't set a strict timeframe for building your business, and don't let external pressures rush you. Stick with it and trust the process.
- Follow your passion - while it's important to be inspired by others, true inspiration comes from tapping into your own heart. Innovate, but don't copy others.
- Be willing to pivot - if something isn't working, don't be afraid to re-strategize. Don't give up easily, but also take the time to re-evaluate your goals and ensure that you're still happy and excited about your business.
