Resilient, Relatable, Inspirational - The Social Consult

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Niama Malachi, CEO of The Social Consult, located in Chicago, IL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

The Social Consult is an Executive Coaching and Consulting firm dedicated to the continuous growth and well-being of people and organizations. We are reimaging success as humane and aim to set a standard where organizations and people grow together. We heavily value connection, transparency, social responsibility, transformation, and Proficiency. Our clientele includes Corporate Enterprises, Non-Profit Organizations, and Government Entities.

Tell us about yourself

I take pride in being a Principal Consultant and an Executive Coach with an extensive background in Organizational, Community, and Social Psychology. In addition, I have been certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Change Management Specialist. I formerly served as a Director of Quality for approximately ten years. My experiences are vast, ranging from the non-profit and public sectors to Fortune 500 entities. The evolution of The Social Consult occurred in 2020 when I saw it was urgent to bridge my consulting psychology background with my relentless, lifelong pursuit to resolve social issues.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment was being the first person to grace the cover of Tycoon magazine in 2020. Along with that, I felt extremely accomplished when I became a certified woman-owned small business with WBENC. WBENC certification is the gold standard for a woman-owned business in the U.S.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing is balancing work, life, home, self-care, and making time for relationships and people that you care about. But that is the most important thing. Without your health and the support from those who care about you, your business will not thrive.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Take care of yourself. Eat healthy, exercise, meditate, and relax.
  2. Be ready to pivot. At any moment in time, something can occur. You have to be flexible. You have to be able to swim with the time.
  3. Have gratitude and show gratitude every step of the way. Be grateful for what you do, your opportunities, your team, and yourself.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I am a single-member LLC, but I would be nothing without my team.
