What's your business, and who are your customers?

The Posh Privy provides luxury portable restroom trailers to the wine country and beyond in Northern California. Our customers are comprised of wedding venues, wineries, event centers, and private customers for their events.

Tell us about yourself

My wife and I own an event planning company that started in 2008. In 2016 my wife and I were discussing needs in the event industry and fell upon luxury portable restrooms. We decided to start a company specializing in high-end portable restroom trailers. In 2017 we took delivery of our first trailer, and The Posh Privy was born. Our business operates in Northern California's wine country, and every day we get to be a part of some of the most luxurious events in some of the most beautiful landscapes.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

In 2022 The Posh Privy expanded by acquiring inventory from another company that was closing. The Posh Privy inventory grew from one trailer to 22 trailers, along with adding two more delivery trucks, wash stations, and a pump truck.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

People and HR are always the biggest challenges when being a business owner. They are vital to the success of the business but always bring the most difficulties. I try to navigate this by working as a team, showing their value and worth not only through compensation and benefits but verbally as well.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

1. Before you start, create a comprehensive business plan (do your research).
2. Invest in yourself and your employees through proper training and procedures.
3. Identify areas for growth and have a plan/forecast to achieve them.
