What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a prenatal dietitian focusing on helping preconception, prenatal, and postpartum clients optimize their health with a real food approach. I am also a brand advocate with Beautycounter, a safer skincare and makeup company helping to advocate for safer health protective laws for everyone.

Tell us about yourself

I have always been interested in nutrition and health, but I really started taking a more holistic approach after being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at 26 years old. I am passionate about empowering other women to make safer and healthier choices, one swap at a time.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Starting my own private practice, launching a website, and creating a launching self-paced course about Baby Led Weaning, all while being home with my 2 young kids.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

I do not really have much downtime. There is always something to work on or do when you are running your own business and brand.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't wait until you are ready. Otherwise, you will never start.
  2. Go ugly early, meaning hit publish or get going before you feel like things are perfect.
  3. Set boundaries to protect your own mental health and well-being.
