What's your business, and who are your customers?

The OC Shrinks is a thriving organization with over 3,000 members dedicated to upholding the highest standards of care in the mental health field. We aim to build bridges between clinicians, clients, agencies, and treatment centers in our community and close the gaps within these populations.

Tell us about yourself

For over 20 years, I have worked with individuals and couples in Orange County, CA, to heal, restore and rejuvenate relationships. At the root of everything I do is a belief that asking for help can be the greatest act of love for both yourself and those you care about. I am honored to hold space for people and help them live their very best lives.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The relationships I've been able to establish and maintain over the years. I moved to Orange County in 2011, not knowing a single soul. Every connection and relationship I've built has been organic and kept through simply being in the community and living my life.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Learning to deal with the unknowns. Every day there are new challenges and obstacles to deal with. Business is never predictable, no matter how prepared you are.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Learn to be flexible. Also, having good planning and organizational skills is important. I didn't start OC Shrinks with a "business plan" per se - it was more of a way to stay social and meet like-minded people, so once the community became what it is, I had to backtrack a bit in order to get organized and create an actual plan.

Being a naturally more reserved person, this community also fills up my cup in a much deeper, more meaningful way. I am so grateful!
