What's your business, and who are your customers?

The Multifamily Mindset. We are a mindset and real estate investment company with a specific focus on helping everyday people invest in big apartment buildings. Our clients are accredited investors who are looking for alternative passive investments that break the barriers of traditional retirement accounts. We also train new investors how to actively buy apartment buildings regardless of age, social status, or net worth.

Tell us about yourself

Due to events throughout my childhood, my primary drivers are three-fold: time with family, providing my family the life they deserve, and being in a position to better the lives of those around me. I found myself making good money in my mid 20's, but I also discovered my time becoming consumed by managing a web business and a sales career at the same time. That wasn't an option for me, which led me to pursue real estate in full force. I had flipped some houses, had some rentals, and even sold a few smaller apartment buildings wholesale, but once again, I had no time. I sincerely began to believe that it might be impossible to be an entrepreneur and still control my time.

What I've found is the more you get clear on your goals, and the harder you work towards them, the more the world conspires to help you achieve them. For me, that happened in the form of running into a long-lost acquaintance of mine at the airport one late Sunday evening. From that encounter, I learned that I could own apartment buildings. After attending an event to learn about it, I knew for a fact that this business could launch me to where I wanted to be, so I put all my effort into the direction of that opportunity.

That has led to owning over $300MM of multifamily real estate, changing the life of my family, creating generational wealth for my investors, and helping thousands of others do the same thing.
What drives me every day? People. Human connection is what brings meaning and purpose into our lives.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The lives we've impacted. We distributed over $50MM to our investors and helped our mentorship students acquire over $400MM of real estate in 2022 alone. The impact will always outweigh personal achievements.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Succeeding as a business owner is very rare. It's rare because it takes a unique mix of confidence, humility, and drive! You have to be confident enough to know that you can make an impact, humble enough to know that you don't know it all and can't do it alone, and you have to have a drive and purpose that transcends self. Business is a challenge... but if you only focus on the bad stuff, you'll miss the best part.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

1. Study mindset and leadership relentlessly!! Mindset will help you connect to self, and if you can't connect with self, you'll never be able to connect with and lead others.
2. Act like a business owner TODAY!! Whatever you're doing, give it your all. You are creating habits that will follow you for a lifetime. If you slack now, you will slack later. Be fucking excellent for those you work with and for, and that will come back to you when the roles are reversed.
3. Provide Value!!! Give freely at every turn. If you try to operate with a tit-for-tat mentality, you will never reach your potential, and you'll be miserable along the way. Find joy in providing more value than you consume. If you do that, you will achieve more than you ever thought possible AND enjoy the journey along the way.
