Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Wyatt Graves, Host of The Mentee, located in Baton Rouge, LA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Online course, group coaching, and mastermind community. My customers are people who are tired of living a lifestyle of average. They want more, better, and different. They are folks who are ready for change and simply need to know how to get connected with others already on that path of growth. At a deeper level, more specifically, my customers want passive income and are open to creating it through entrepreneurship and real estate investing.

Tell us about yourself

I grew up poor and in a household that was paycheck to paycheck. My parents argued over money, and I swore I'd NOT have money so I could be happy. I made money but didn't find happiness. I've been on a personal growth and development journey as far back as I can recall. I've lived three lives in my one lifetime. My mom is in and out of recovery, and I've been at her side along the way, in the good times and bad. I've learned that life, too. I have a passion for life, a FULL life with nothing left in the tank when it's over. I am driven to help others find clarity in their desired future self, inspire them to take action, and connect them with resources to bring their goals to fruition. I love seeing other people get what they want!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The Mentee Podcast. Nearly 800,000 downloads over its lifetime of 7 years. The impact I've had on others... I can give you an account. Now they are business owners (former employees of mine), and they are making the same impact on their employees that I made on them. Net worth millionaire...the first and only in my family and one of very few in my extended family. Came from little and have persevered. Grit. I'm proud that I am still alive and well and succeeding.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

This is a tough question. I'm not sure I look at anything as hard. Is it new? Yes. Unpredictable, yes. But hard, I don't think so.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Define what success means to you. Connect with others who are already successful at it. Design your environment to be conducive to the activities necessary to achieve your goals.
