What's your business, and who are your customers?

I handcraft pure soy and palm wax candles with maximum scent load. I currently have a little shop in a local flea market where I get to know my customers. Something I really enjoy. I’m always taking special requests and doing everything I can to please my customers.

Tell us about yourself

I first started to keep busy because I was going through depression. Then as I got better, I began to sell my candles. It became my passion for creating better quality candles than big chain stores. My motivation is simply that I enjoy the craft and what it’s done for my life.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishments are going from being a small Facebook vendor to having my own store. However, it may not be a stand-alone store, but it still took a lot of hard work and time to get to where I am now.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

For me, it’s keeping up with new scents coming in, what’s available now that wasn’t before, because I’m always trying to expand my scent selection.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

It’s going to be hard work but extremely rewarding. Never give up even when things don’t seem to go your way. Pay attention to your customers and what they are looking for.
