What's your business, and who are your customers?

The Luxe Life Academy is a virtual school for aspiring entrepreneurs to learn how to launch and grow passive income side hustles.

Tell us about yourself

I bartended for over a decade, and I loved what I did, but I only made income from the moments I stood behind the bar. In the time that got old and unsustainable, so I launched a small side hustle to bring in some money off the clock. When the pandemic hit, my entire industry was decimated, and my job shut down. I focused all my efforts on my e-commerce side hustle and quickly turned it into a viable business that kept the lights on. I knew thousands of other people had to be in the same position, and I wanted to help. Using my podcast platform, I asked my listeners if they'd like to know more about how I was surviving e-commerce, and they said yes. My goal was 100 students in 30 days, I got 100 in 3 days, and the Luxe Life Academy was born. Four thousand students later, the thing that pushes me the most is preventing others from relying on one job that can be taken away at any time. I want people to learn that multiple streams of income are the only way to have security truly.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being able to take single mothers who had been juggling two jobs, debt, and time away from their kids to work from home and support their families with pride and ease through their e-commerce businesses.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Not having the foggiest clue how to get it all done! I don't have a business partner or an MBA; I'm learning everything as I go while trying to give my students the very best. It's a ton of work but so worth it.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Google absolutely everything! You'd be stunned at the number of answers you will find online when you ask the right questions. The second you can pay for help, do it! You are a visionary, so hire an integrator so you can remain in your zone of genius. Focus on one hero product and perfect it over and over by listening to the feedback of your target audience. The key is not trying to do more things but just doing just one thing better than anyone else.
