What's your business, and who are your customers?
Restaurant consultant specializing in restaurant real estate and concept development. My clients are operators, chefs, landlords, developers, Buyers/Sellers, and creators of restaurants.
Tell us about yourself
When the interest rates went to 14% in 1980, and I was brokering residential real estate in LA, I thought, "Now, what am I going to do?... I'm 30 years old, and no one is buying homes" So I stumbled across a little-known chef named Wolfgang Puck and found his first location...Then I said, "Wow, no one's specializing in restaurant real estate." Just as the scene in LA and around the country blossomed...Then I connected with Peter Morton and the Hard Rock Cafe and was clearly off to the races!...I get up every morning wondering, "What's gonna surprise me today?--good, bad, or indifferent...As Churchill so eloquently said, "Never, Never, Never give up."
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I co-created a quick service brand called WORLD LINKS--a gourmet sausage and hot dog concept. Though we built 11 units around the country and are now closed, it still has evergreen qualities making it a solid brand. If anyone out there wants to discuss it - you may visit www.world-links.com. What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
You live by the sword and die by the sword. It's all on you, baby.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Have a clear idea/purpose.
- Have confidence.
- Be passionate, and the money will follow.
