Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Claudia Armani, Health & Nutrition Coach of The Healthy Gourmet, located in London, England, UK.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a health coach specializing in helping clients create healthy eating and lifestyle habits. I specialize in helping clients move on from emotional eating and yo-yo dieting to a more attuned and intuitive relationship with food. I will help you say goodbye to an eternal cycle of diets, food obsession, and emotional eating and find your balance on and off the plate. I also work with people with chronic health conditions, like fatigue or metabolic syndrome, to help them piece together various aspects of their lifestyle to improve their health and well-being.
Tell us about yourself
I love to be able to make a difference and see clients improve their health and their life. But my real inner motivation was a personal health crisis that I went through a few years ago. Doctors were not able to help, and I felt so ill that I had to take time off work and leave my job. With a functional approach and a step-by-step system, I managed to get in remission, gaining insight into the management of chronic conditions. This experience is what motivated me to become a health coach, helping others on the path to health. I then launched my blog, The Healthy Gourmet, to share everyday healthy but tasty recipes, and my brand was born.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
One of my biggest achievements is to have seen my work recognized by several business and blogging awards and to have received the interest of so many international websites and magazines. And obviously, my clients, and seeing them thrive. My blog has been ranked among UK's Top 10 Health Coach blogs to follow for five years running.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Creating a structure in your day, being consistent and focused. Finding motivation when things don't go according to plan (which happens more often than you wish). Create a vision, set up a plan, and be consistent but also flexible if you have setbacks. If your vision is strong, you will find a way through setbacks.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Make a plan, keep it simple and engage with your audience. Don't underestimate the power of networking both in person and online.
