The Happiness Consultant - Rania Badreldin

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rania Badreldin, Founder of The Happiness Consultant, located in Cairo, Egypt.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a transformational speaker, writer, seasoned social entrepreneur, and NLP and Hypnosis Master Practitioner on a mission to help people across the globe truly master happiness and success.

I am booked by event organizers, corporations, educational institutions, and other entities to speak on topics related to leadership, entrepreneurship, happiness, success, mental health and wellbeing, mindset, and the power of the unconscious mind that I tailor specifically to their audiences.

I am the creator and co-host of The Happy Marriage Podcast with my husband of over 32 years, who is also a seasoned entrepreneur, and I'm currently working on finishing my first book Happy Inside Out.

Tell us about yourself

As a social entrepreneur with over 28 years of experience in publishing, and a leader and pioneer in women's and children's wellbeing in Egypt, I have always been passionate about spreading knowledge for wellbeing.

Five years ago, I took my passion to a higher level by shifting my focus toward global wellbeing and happiness, using my strengths as a speaker and writer to spread knowledge even further. Everyone deserves it, and the world needs it!

For a large part of my career and adult life, I was stuck in a rut of exhaustion, frustration, and self-doubt. Having experienced my own happiness and success transformation, I now love to help others do the same.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Surprisingly, my biggest accomplishment as a social entrepreneur isn't a specific publication, program, event, training, talk, or set of tools that helped others (and there were thousands of those through the years that helped millions) but rather, it was finally learning how to create greater positive impact for others while prioritizing the positive impact on myself. I learned how to slow down and get even further, when to say yes and when to say no, how to delegate and collaborate, and most of all, how to enjoy the journey!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I would say the hardest thing for me over the years was the great sense of responsibility that comes with being a business owner, along with a feeling of loneliness at the top. I have since made progress on both fronts.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure the business has great meaning to you and that you tap into your sense of purpose behind it every day.
  2. Make sure the business delivers great value to a specific audience who you can get to perceive that value and seek it.
  3. Work towards increasing the daily states of flow (for you and any team members), whereby you have just the right amount of challenge that keeps you engaged and fulfilled.
