What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a passionate and empowered businesswoman, digital marketer, and business development manager. From creating my first business at just 12 years old, it has become my passion to teach fellow entrepreneurs the strategies for business success.

Tell us about yourself

I am a highly trained and well-regarded Business Development, Business Mentor, and Digital Marketing Manager. My purpose-driven personality drove me to create Ani Designs, my first business, at the age of 12. Since then, I have assisted in the creation and growth of multiple businesses by implementing my digital marketing, social media management, and business development skills.

Originally from London, Ontario, Canada, I moved to Australia in 2012 to expand my knowledge and grow my career. After nine years working in the field while continually increasing my skill base, I'm now utilising my years of experience to help business owners in business growth, consumer behaviour, marketing, and financial planning. My core objective is to help grow your business through business mentoring and proven growth strategies. Being passionate about helping others succeed in their professional and personal lives, I founded The Growth Manager while continuing to work on my passion project clothing brand, Pear Collections.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is giving back to my community. I love being able to watch my clients succeed and positively impact their community in their own way. This gives me great joy and a sense of accomplishment.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

That's a great question. When you're a business owner, it's hard to delegate time to what is the most important to focus on. Since I have two businesses and spend most of my time supporting my clients, I'm always torn between:

It's a constant struggle to find the right combination of focus to support all the aspects of my life, and it's something I'm continually working towards.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

1. Create a business plan.

2. Gain professional support via a mentor or coach to get help creating your dreams.

3. Outsource to professionals as soon as possible.

These are always my top three tips for anyone wanting to create a business because to create something amazing, you need the following:

• A plan of attack.
• Support from those who know what it's like.
• Help in areas you aren't an expert in.
