What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are dog lovers just like you. Our tagline is "Dogs are our favorite people" because it's true. Our company offers boarding, grooming, and daycare to thousands of dogs each month. Our attentive staff is passionate about pets and will go the extra mile to ensure that your pet has a safe and enjoyable time with us.
Our exclusive dog boarding, doggy daycare, dog grooming, and dog bathing services, coupled with our caring employees and pet-friendly facility, are why The Dog House Pet Salon truly is a paradise for all pets.
Tell us about yourself
My business partner founded the dog house in 2009, and I bought it in 2014. The intent was to build more stores which we now have three and counting. I've always been a dog person and love every single one that walks through our doors.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
So far, my biggest accomplishment was successfully navigating our business through the pandemic. It was a very slippering slop, but we came out of it stronger and added a third location.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Managing the human resources. We have 32 employees, and I love them all, but it can be challenging to say the least.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Work on your business, not in your business.
- Don't go it alone; hire and promote people you can trust.
- Always monitor constant growth...if you aren't growing, you're shrinking.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
It's been said that if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. I love what I do.
