Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business services but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Cassandra Neece, Founder of The Dharma Collective, located in Black Mountain, NC, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business, The Dharma Collective, guides therapists, coaches, and wellness entrepreneurs in creating their brand strategy, visual identity, and a website that encapsulates who they are and what they offer and supports the growth of their business.
Tell us about yourself
I started my career in digital marketing back in 2008 and have been learning and refining my skills over the past 14 years. I come from a long line of entrepreneurs and risk-takers, which is why working with passionate, soulful folks is my jam. The work that I do with my clients motivates me endlessly, and the momentum and positive energy we create together fuels me endlessly. I love supporting them in making an impact in the world. I believe we all have a unique gift to offer the world, and when we are able to show up offering that gift to others, we are living our dharma, our unique purpose. When we live our purpose, we leave a legacy that can be felt for generations.
When I'm not working with my incredible clients and supporting them in living their purpose, you can find me on my yoga mat or adventuring with my husband and our rescue pup Roscoe.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Having a business that supports the life I want to be living is the biggest accomplishment for me. Waking up each day and having absolute dream clients to work with and walk alongside is the greatest gift.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The most challenging part for me as an entrepreneur has been carving out the dedicated space and time to work on my business. I love working with my clients so much that the things I need to do to amplify my work fall by the wayside. It's a challenge that I'm continually overcoming more and more all the time, though.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Start with why. Figure out why you are starting your business, and then infuse that intention into everything you create.
- Get crystal clear on your mission, values, ideal client, and what you'll offer before you begin to market yourself. As you start, you need to be able to clearly express how you help people and who you want to work with.
- My final tip would be to dream big! You can accomplish anything you set your mind and heart to.
