I'm a copywriter specializing in the financial services industry.
Tell us about yourself
I started working in wealth management after college. When I got sent to work from home in March of 2020 because of COVID, I figured it was as good a time as any to start a side hustle. I decided to leverage my natural talent as a writer. After a while, I had steady clients who were paying me more on an hourly basis than I was making at my 9-5. I knew I could make a living working for myself as a copywriter, but decided to wait until I got the CFP® to take the leap.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Building a successful side business as a freelance copywriter while working a very demanding full-time job. It was a lot of work!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Deciding which opportunities to pursue out of a seemingly infinite number of options.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
1. Be willing to work hard and sacrifice.
2. Have faith in yourself and your abilities.
3. Understand why you want to start a business and have measurable goals.
