What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am an international expert on Mindfulness and ADHD and an award-winning, best-selling author of 5 books and 2 card decks that provide mindfulness skills proven to help people improve symptoms of ADHD, depression, anxiety, sleep, and health issues. My customers are adults with depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, and chronic illness, as well as children and teens with ADHD.
Tell us about yourself
I was helped by a mental health professional early in my career. I thought that if I could help even one person as much as he helped me, then the years of education and training would be worth doing. I have overcome many challenges in my life, including being blind in one eye, dealing with 15 years of chronic illness, and many difficult losses. I love sharing the skills and strategies I've learned with others to help to make their journey easier than mine.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment has been helping hundreds of thousands of people feel better and improve their lives either in person as a psychotherapist, at my workshops, or through my books.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest part of being a business owner is learning and using effective marketing strategies to promote your products and services and building a cost-effective team to help with this.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Know who your ideal client is.
- Clarify the benefits of your service or product.
- Focus on what you do best and build a team to do the other tasks.
