Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Adam Majewski, head baker, and co-owner of The Blue Ox Bakery, located in Minneapolis, MN, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a Community Supported Bakery based in Minneapolis, MN, dedicated to fueling social justice through baking.

Tell us about yourself

Since I was nine years old, I've always wanted to own my own bakery. The COVID pandemic is what pushed me to go forward with opening my bakery.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

We've been able to feed 300 plus families in our first year, in need of a home-cooked meal, and have been very active with Bakers Without Borders.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Attracting new customers to our bakery.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Experience in your industry prior to opening your own business is always priceless. Even if you only learn what not to do, those times are just as important as when you learn what to do correctly.
