What's your business, and who are your customers?

Tell us about yourself
I had recently been laid off from a corporate marketing job and had tried other jobs here and there, but nothing seemed to fit. When I was part of the corporate world, I'd fantasize about having a personal assistant to help me with everything I didn't have time to do at home while I was so busy working.
Not long after I had lost my job, I was curled into a ball, feeling sorry for myself and watching an episode of Oprah. Then, listening to her guests being interviewed, something clicked. I jumped off the couch and decided to turn the idea of having a personal home assistant into a business concept, and The Betty Brigade was born. I started by making a list of things I was good at and reached out to contacts I had built relationships with over the years from my corporate job. Then I started getting busy. Really busy. I was getting constant referrals. I had to hire an employee to help keep track of all my appointments and to keep the business end of things organized while I was out helping clients. Today, The Betty Brigade has grown into one of the most trusted home organization and relocation companies in America, serving clients in all fifty states.
