What's your business, and who are your customers?
At The Beauty Bar KC, we specialize in Permanent Makeup Services (Powder Brow, Microblading, Lashline Enhancement, Lip Blush), Lash Extensions, Full body waxing, and additional cosmetic services. Clients are women and men ranging from the early 20s and up!
Tell us about yourself
I am 31, and I have been providing cosmetic services for seven years. I have always had a love for serving others, and being able to provide a service that contributes to someone’s self-esteem and overall happiness is what drives my passion for what I do! I am extremely thankful for the opportunity and trust are given to me by each of my clients!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is creating a successful small business and making a name for myself! When I started, I knew very little about running a business, but over the years, I have gained more knowledge and still continue to learn and adjust to fit the needs of my clients while running a successful business.
Although I’ve had many smaller accomplishments, I am not there yet! Every day is another step closer to where I would like to be!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Time! It takes a lot to run a business, big or small! You are constantly answering calls, continuing education to stay up with the latest trends, and perfecting your craft. Running a business means you don’t ever really get to “clock out.”
Last but not least, trying to keep up with social media. I am not a social media gal, and by far, all the TikTok and IG trends have been my biggest struggle to keep up with!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Stay consistent (with yourself and your business).
- What you put in is what you get out.
- BE CREATIVE AND LOVE WHAT YOU DO!
