What's your business, and who are your customers?

Tatt2Away is a revolutionary technology that removes all colors of tattoos. We proudly serve the millions of tattoo regretters who are looking to "Get the Ink Out" of the skin. Unlike older tattoo removal technology that drives the ink deeper into the body, our patented system removes 35% of the ink with each treatment for a faster and less expensive total removal.

Tell us about yourself

As a serial entrepreneur in medical capital equipment, I am always looking for better ways to fill a need. The process of creating new solutions is not only motivating but rewarding as I see new concepts turn into satisfied customers. The Tatt2Away System does this and resolves long-existing issues with older removal technologies.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Over the years, I have been blessed to bring technologies to market that have improved millions of people's quality of life by better vision, medical care, and self-image.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The unrelenting responsibility to your customer's satisfaction, product/service, and team. The buck stops with me!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Although you research and plan, every startup is going to have surprises, especially if you are bringing new technology to market. In the early stage, you need to be involved in the detail to recognize and adapt to the surprises.
  2. Be prepared for how hard it's going to be. The journey can be longer and with more obstacles than you expect. As the saying goes..."if it were easy, everyone would be doing it."
  3. I think the single biggest tip is to find and hire good people. They will be your biggest business asset. You can't do it alone in most businesses.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

There are days when I feel like being an entrepreneur doing startups is a disease, and why am I doing this? Most days, however, are the most rewarding thing I've ever done. I try to think in terms of lifestyle and having some control over my business life. If you are becoming an entrepreneur thinking business owners make a lot of money with little effort, you will be extremely disappointed as you will never work harder in your life, but I love it!!
