What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business provides makeup and lash extension services. I serve the everyday woman who desires to enhance her natural beauty with a subtle change simply. She doesn’t want to be caked-on makeup. She wants people to wonder if those are her real lashes because they look that good!
Tell us about yourself
I am a single mother who desires to bring out her creativity. I didn’t want a hobby. I wanted something I would leave my day job for. I had to love it. Being a Beauty Artist allows me to meet different people. I love hearing their story, and I love to share mine. It’s not just about makeup and lashes; it’s about encouragement and inspiring women to be the best version of themselves. Once I am done with their makeup, their reaction in the mirror is the best!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I really don’t know what I would say my biggest accomplishment is. I honestly appreciate every lash client, every referral, Bride, and testimonial of my services.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things is being sure to set boundaries. You have to make time for self-care. Don’t allow the business to consume you.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Start - this will always be the first step.
- You are your brand. Market yourself.
- The more you love it, the more it will grow.
