What's your business, and who are your customers?

Gloves and bucket cleaning service is a residential/commercial cleaning company. We offer regular, deep, move-in/out, post-renovation, and office cleanings to homeowners, businesses, condos, and Airbnb operators, in greater Toronto. Our fully integrated online system ensures a smooth booking process and allows for proper management of upcoming jobs, which helps set us apart from the rest.

Tell us about yourself

My name is Tajwane Campbell, and I have been involved in the cleaning business for the past three years. It all started as a side hustle until I realized the opportunity to succeed tremendously in the field. Before starting Gloves and Bucket, I worked in the technological industry and incorporated my knowledge about technology into the core structure of gloves and bucket cleaning services.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Getting started. I have learned that by getting started, I have set myself up for opportunities and growth. Every day I learn more and more about how to better cater to my clients and the growth of my business.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is that we don't always get it right. Projections are often a miss, but we must keep trying until we find the thing that works best for the business and its stakeholders.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Consistently communicate with your customers.
  2. Keep referral links intact.
  3. Know that customer satisfaction and great leadership is the key.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Nothing beats a trial but a failure. So many times, we stomp on our plans and dreams because we fear failing, but without starting, we have already failed.
