Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sabrina Delmonico, Owner of TagThat Designs LLC., located in Las Vegas, NV, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is TagThat Designs LLC. I make and create personalized and customizable products. (shirts, tumblers, coasters, key chains, badge reels, mugs, anything you want to be personalized) My customers have been mostly word of mouth and looking to have their vision become a reality. That is what I strive to create for them with a quick turnaround time. I have amazing repeat customers who like my work and become part of my creative design process.

Tell us about yourself

We moved from Oahu, HI, to Las Vegas during the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 and began a new life here. I am a mother of three children, ages 11, 3, and 2. I have been working in an inpatient pharmacy for almost 9 years now and in health care for 15 years. I was looking for a change and wanted something else that I was passionate about. Next week will be one year since I started my small business.

One day last year, my husband came home from class, and I told him I wanted to start a business where I could personalize and customize virtually anything, and I wanted to call it TagThat Designs. He has always been my biggest supporter of anything that I want to pursue. He told me to go for it. That same day one of my friends from high school posted on their Facebook, "In 6 months you will have 6 months of excuses, or 6 months of progress, the choice is yours." That just hit me like I am really going to do this and make it work.

I started researching my business license and insurance, designing my business pages on social media, and launched it. What keeps me motivated each day is I get to create and design a wide variety of things. When I was deciding on a name to call my business, I didn't want to be stuck in just one category; I wanted to make it all and make anything possible.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is seeing the things that I have designed and created out there. The other day we were running errands, and we saw a truck in another lane, and their back decal was one that I made. I have done work for other businesses, and seeing their business cards or decals I designed on their products is just awesome.

As a business owner, I believe that the ultimate compliment is when customers return to purchase from me again or when new customers discover my work through my business page or local craft shows organized by Vegas Events and More. These events are welcoming and make you feel like a part of the craft fair family. Definitely has the Ohana vibes!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

I would say one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner is time management! Sometimes I get wrapped up in a project and just can't stop.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have a business plan and do all of the research for your State-specific licenses.
  2. Have a budget and a way to stay organized. (monthly works best for me)
  3. Have fun and enjoy what you do!
