What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am the owner of T.C. Fitness, a private fitness studio in San Antonio, Texas, and a NASM Certified Personal Trainer & Fitness Nutrition Specialist.
At T.C. Fitness, we offer both in-person & virtual training, allowing you to work privately with a certified personal trainer from anywhere. Our goal is to help you improve and develop a healthier lifestyle and learn how to maintain it for the rest of your life, all while having some fun. We take pride in being your biggest cheerleader and motivator and want nothing more than for you to achieve the goals you have set for yourself.
If you're ready to take charge of your health, we are ready and waiting for you!
Tell us about yourself
I have had a passion for both fitness and education for as long as I can remember. I played tennis competitively for 10 years, obtained my bachelor's degree in early childhood education, and spent 4 years post-grad working in different facets of the wellness industry. So, when it came time to make a big shift in my life, moving cross country back to my home state, I decided there was no better time to start my own business.
I wanted to take all the tools & knowledge I had acquired over the years and help others find the best and most efficient way to take charge of their health. Helping people improve their quality of life, regain the ability to do the things they love again, and live longer so they can enjoy their growing families, are just a few of the things that excite me about my job and make it all worth it.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is making it to 7 years in business. I have had to relocate my business twice in that time and deal with the craziness and uncertainties of the pandemic, and here I am still standing.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things about being a business owner is establishing boundaries for your business and personal life. It is very easy, especially at the beginning, to be so focused on getting your business up and running and trying to make it successful that you forget to step away from time to time and have some fun. Being a business owner can often be consuming and overwhelming, but it is also extremely rewarding!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't hesitate to lean on others for support.
- Attend as many classes, seminars, & networking events for entrepreneurs as you can. (There are so many offered for free.)
- Go for what you want!
