What's your business, and who are your customers?
Synergy is a multi-location med-spa that offers a wide variety of skincare and treatment options. We also offer non-surgical body contouring options and have a private, on-site plastic surgery center. Our customers are real people looking for real solutions. Synergy addresses our clients' treatment needs in a way that is positive and subtle to make them feel good about themselves.
Tell us about yourself
I began my career as a professional makeup artist and then got my aesthetics license. I spent time working for and consulting with spas, med spas, and plastic surgeons, but ultimately I always knew I wanted to own a business. My biggest motivation is to create an environment that provides future career development and opportunities for my team and innovative and effective solutions for patients and clients.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Creating a culture within the organization that allows people to stay with us for a long time and provides an opportunity to grow and take their careers to the next level.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Management of people with many different personalities.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Start with more money than you think you need.
- Put your team first.
- Don't get overwhelmed with small details, focus on the big picture.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Owning a business has been the most rewarding thing I've ever done for myself. While it's a lot of hard work and not for everyone, if you are passionate about what you do and surround yourself with talented people, then the journey is worth it.
