Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Vernell Stewart, founder of Sweet Tea Factory Inc., located in Savannah, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Bringing people together through tea. Whether you make it yourself at home, enjoy it at a spa while nourishing your body, try new ways with tea infusions at a restaurant or with family on vacation, or at a bar with friends. Our goal is to infuse tea into every aspect of your life! In a way that is enjoyable, tasty, hydrating, and healthy.

Tell us about yourself

I fell in love with tea after attending a World Tea Expo in Atlanta. I wanted to provide a product that would enhance, benefit and improve the lives and health of others as well as myself and my family.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Happy, satisfied, loyal customers who sell your business to all who will listen.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

For me, it was finding my niche.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. I've always believed that the individual gifts we all are given are meant to be used in society.
  2. Focus on a main product or service.
  3. If you are not already, become a giver, whether its time, money, knowledge, or whatever you have to give.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

If you plan to be a business owner, be prepared to serve your customers, impact them, and change their lives for the better!
