Make Sustainable Choices - Sustainably Kind
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Ariel Ouziel, Founder of Sustainably Kind, located in Los Angeles, CA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Sustainably Kind works with individuals who want to lower their impact on this planet. We help you understand how every action and resource affects our environment while taking the confusion out of it.
Tell us about yourself
I have always been interested in sustainability due to my love of animals. When I was a kid, I wanted to save every natural ecosystem to ensure that wildlife always had a safe home. But as I learned more, I realized there was so much more than just saving animals. It helps save humans as well. But currently, humans are living in a manner that consumes more than the earth can produce. Once you understand the effects your lifestyle can have on this planet, it's hard to stop seeing it and ignoring it. So I decided that the best solution was to help others see this as well to help make a larger impact.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is hearing the success stories of other people I have worked with. Every time I get a message about how my teachings have led to a permanent habit change, like eliminating single-use plastic, reducing meat consumption, understanding a product's life cycle assessment, or any other habit, I feel like I have been able to make a difference.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Staying focused. As a business owner, you are going to have 101 different ideas every day. But you have to get organized and stay focused on the best ideas to help you move forward and grow. Also, understanding that you don't have to do it alone.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- It doesn't have to be perfect, just get it out there. As a business owner, you want everything to be perfect, but nothing will ever feel ready. You just have to start.
- Listen to your gut. Everyone will try to tell you the best way to do things, but this is your business and you know what feels right for you.
- Surround yourself with motivated and supportive people.
