What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a fine jewelry designer specializing in custom-made engagement rings and one-of-a-kind jewelry. I am here to help you commemorate and personalize life's most significant milestones so that you can wear a memory, share your story, and pass on meaning through jewelry.
Tell us about yourself
I worked in the fine jewelry industry and started by doing "favor projects" for family and friends. I have always been creative, so once I started building relationships with vendors, I got creative and fell in love with the process of personalizing jewelry and allowing people to be part of actualizing their visions. People motivate me - their stories - joys, and hardships …it's the connection that drives my creativity.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I am proud to have built my business without the financial help of anyone else.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Balance. Being a mother to both my daughter and business presents its challenges, but overall the rewards far outweigh the challenges. I feel so lucky!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Connect. Learn. Ask questions. Work. Put in the time and dedication, and have patience. There are SO many resources for aspiring entrepreneurs. Use those resources. Listen to podcasts. Buy books. Work for someone you admire - comprehensive, well-rounded knowledge goes SO FAR when building a business from scratch.
