What's your business, and who are your customers?

I offer relationship coaching and consulting services in Golden Valley, MN. In addition, I offer online classes for self-paced learning. There is an emphasis on helping parents going through divorce and custody battles. However, I do help everyone achieve peaceful, connected relationships.

Tell us about yourself

After going through a particularly long divorce and custody battle, I wanted to help parents understand these processes so they can let go of fear and the bitterness that can come from an angry, hostile co-parent. My main goal is to help parents focus on their children and minimize court effects on their lives and parenting.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being in business for 12 years now. I went with a leap of faith in 2010, not knowing where it would lead and fearing that I would not succeed. However, I have learned a lot and am still here!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Time management. There is a lot to do.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Take out a business line of credit, even if you don't think you will need it. It is much harder to get credit later on.
  2. Marketing strategies. When I started, SEO was much easier than it is today. Learn how to make that work to draw clients.
  3. Start with an accountant right away. It is hard to do both jobs once your business grows
