What's your business, and who are your customers?
We're an Ayurvedic Spa & Wellness world, helping to bring the simple, effective and aspirational practicality of Ayurveda to as many people as we can.
Tell us about yourself
I love my work, seven days a week. I love helping people through products and services, but I really watch the transformations that Ayurveda can bring to people -- simple ones and life-changing ones.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Each person I've helped. Maybe that sounds trite, but it's really -- and helping more and more people. I started in a one-room cottage in a canyon, and now we've got a Kelly Wearstler-designed spa in Santa Monica Proper Hotel and three retreat centers being built in Kauai, Oahu, and Bend, OR!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
To stay true to your real purpose -- to keep that vision ever alive. And not to get deterred by any small setbacks when the largest vision you have is so much larger!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Define your brand. Why? That's how you will be known to the world and how the world will know you as opposed to everyone else who's doing similar things. And understand your group of customers, so you can help and serve them in the best way. And don't do it for the money -- do it because you love it, because it's enjoyable to do -- then you know you're in alignment with your purpose, your destiny, and that's when you really feel the support of nature.
