What's your business, and who are your customers?
Suite Tee is a salon where people can get more than their basic manicure, brow wax, or spray tan. We offer a serene experience for folks that need a small break from the everyday.
Tell us about yourself
For over a decade, I worked at an amazing talent agency, which is where I learned so much about running a business. It was a lesson in creativity and how beauty is in the details. That, combined with my obsession with all things beach-related and peacefulness, is the foundation of my business. The joy we bring to people every day motivates me to keep going.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Making it this far has been an accomplishment in itself. They say the first five years are the hardest, and just when I was starting to get in the groove and ready to go, the pandemic hit. It has been an accomplishment to get through that and still rise!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
There's loneliness if you're friends and family are not business owners. No one really understands what you're going through, your exhaustion, or your perseverance.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Make sure you have your personal finances in order.
- If you do not have any business experience, take some courses. There is a lot of good free access available.
- You're your best advertisement!
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Entrepreneurship is a rollercoaster. Some days you absolutely love it and some days... Some months you'll make five figures, and some months four figures. You just have to keep motivating yourself. Get around some folks that are on the same page as you and your goals.
