What's your business, and who are your customers?
Sugar Mirchi is a result of my passion for cooking and baking. I specialize in making sweet and savory South Asian fusion snacks, along with authentic Pakistani chai. I provide customized, healthy, freshly made snacks with no preservatives. All my products are also 100% Halal. My customers are those that appreciate and enjoy freshly made authentic Pakistani hi-tea-style snacks and chai. I only make snacks that are made to order; therefore, our freshness is guaranteed. As well, halal products are essential to the Muslim community; consequently, I make sure to use only halal ingredients for all my products.
Tell us about yourself
I have always had a passion for cooking and baking. I wanted to bring the authentic flavors of Pakistani hi-tea to Canada as I did not see many places here that provided these services. I decided to make my passion into a business and provide my customers with the authentic flavors of my country. Having my customers appreciate my hard work motivates me to work even harder and provide the best quality products and service. It has always been my goal to provide fresh, high-quality products, and I plan to strive every day to achieve this goal.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been to get good reviews from my clients consistently. When my clients are happy, it makes all worth it in the end!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Being a small business owner requires an immense amount of work. You only have yourself to rely upon to get everything done. From maintaining a social media presence and marketing online, accounting, down to buying the inventory and making the products, you are a one-person army to do it all.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Never shy away from hard work.
- Do not give up; consistency is key.
- Be passionate about the business you want to do.
