What's your business, and who are your customers?
I'm known as The Father of AFFORMATIONS® and “The Mental Health Coach to The Stars.” Working with Hollywood celebrities, 7- and 8-figure CEOs, professional athletes, top executives and elite entrepreneurs, my superpower is helping my clients make more in just 12 weeks than they did in the previous 12 months while winning back 1-3 hours per day and 4-8 weeks per year.
Tell us about yourself
I grew up poor in a rich neighborhood. (Yes, cliché, but totally true.) I was raised in a little town called Kennebunkport, Maine—one of the wealthiest communities in New England—but my family was dirt poor. My earliest childhood memories are of my parents arguing. About what? You’re right—money (and the fact that we didn’t have any).
I hated that life of poverty, fear, and not enoughness. That’s why, from a very young age, I began a lifelong quest to answer the question: “What’s THE SECRET OF SUCCESS that highly successful people are keeping from the rest of us?”
Then in 1997, I had two epiphanies that changed my life. The first was “The Shower That Changed Everything” when I discovered my AFFORMATIONS® Method. What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Publishing 18 books in 19 languages and helping my clients add more than $2.8 Billion Dollars in found revenues.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Staying focused in a world of infinite distractions. That's why one of the biggest things I help my clients do is stay focused on what's truly important to them. This is one reason I'm able to help my clients make more in just 12 weeks than they did in the previous 12 months.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Here are the top 3 tips I would give to anyone looking to start, run, and grow a business today:
- Focus on providing value to your customers: One of the most important things to keep in mind when starting and growing a business is that it should always be focused on providing value to your customers. Understanding their needs, wants, and pain points are key to creating products or services that they will want to buy. Always put yourself in the shoes of your customers and ask yourself what problems you can solve for them.
- Build a strong online presence: In today's digital age, having a strong online presence is crucial for any business. This includes having a website, active social media accounts, and other online platforms where your target audience can find and engage with you. Building a strong online presence can help you reach more customers, establish your brand, and build trust with your audience.
- Be adaptable and willing to pivot: The business landscape is constantly changing, and it's important to be adaptable and willing to pivot when necessary. This means being open to new opportunities, being willing to experiment and try new things, and being able to adjust your strategy as needed. Successful businesses are those that are able to quickly adapt to changing market conditions and customer needs, so being flexible and willing to change course when needed is key to long-term success.
