What's your business, and who are your customers?

As a business Strategy and Focus coach, I facilitate conversations with business owners individually or in groups, asking questions, being a thought partner, and providing resources to help them gain clarity. I help them see the big picture, prioritize goals and strategies, and help hold them accountable –while having some fun! I have helped over 500 businesses find practical solutions and new ideas for growth and success.

Tell us about yourself

I believe that small business owners are the lifeblood of strong communities! I help entrepreneurs build a business that utilizes their talents to serve others and create financial freedom so they can enjoy their business AND their life!

I have a background in corporate marketing and operations. I then ran a law firm for ten years before starting my first company in 2013. I sought a business coach to help me grow my first business and decided to become a certified business coach in 2015. I LOVE working with entrepreneurs to help them get all of those ideas and goals out of their heads and into a solid plan of action that gets results!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Seeing the success of my clients! I have seen the spark of an idea turn into a $225K a year business! I have seen them grow in confidence to go from charging $300 per speaking event to over $3000! For my own success - I have written two Amazon Bestselling books, spoken on many podcasts and to groups of business owners, and juggled two businesses for over six years while raising my daughters to be amazing humans!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

It can be lonely at the top - if you have a team or you are a solopreneur, you need to find a safe space to seek advice, talk through your reality and get encouragement from others who have been there.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get clear! - you need to have a clear idea of what you are selling, to whom, and for how much?
  2. Get realistic! - you need to set realistic goals for your time and revenue. Give yourself enough runway to take off.
  3. Get Help! - When starting out, it can seem like you can't afford help, but you will quickly learn that the struggle is much harder if you try to do it all yourself. Hire a Virtual Assistant and get yourself a coach!
