What's your business, and who are your customers?

I own a media company with multiple blogs that share tips and information with people.

Tell us about yourself

I started out as a marketing consultant and had a client who wanted to learn YouTube, so I created a YouTube channel to learn the platform better for him. Well, now that channel has close to 90,000 subscribers.
I realized that I enjoyed creating content and that these days, you can turn your content into a business and even a full-time job!

Now I have a media company with multiple blogs and Youtube channels to help people with things like beauty and style (https://www.stylishweekly.com) to business and content creation (https://www.BreonnaQueen.com). I love helping people and sharing knowledge through content. This type of business did not exist 20 years ago, and I'm so lucky to wake up each day and do what I love!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My online publication, StylishWeekly.com, hit over 40,000 monthly readers this month.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing, especially in my field, is consistency and continuing even when it feels like it's not worth it. I earn my income through ad revenue, affiliate revenue, sponsorships, and digital products, but in the beginning, it's a very slow income. You're working to pay your future self, and that can be difficult to work super hard at the beginning with no payout yet.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Know who you want to help.
  2. Know how you want to help them.
  3. Keep your binders on and do #1 and #2. Don't get distracted by shiny object syndrome. Stay focused!
