What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are Strive Success Solutions, and our primary emphasis is helping organizations, executives, and individuals identify their passions and goals, work fervently toward them, and experience outrageous success. If you are interested in getting better, healthier, stronger, happier (or any other -er), we are here to partner with you!
Tell us about yourself
My wife and I launched Strive Success Solutions in 2017 in order to support the many well-intentioned, passionate individuals and companies that were somehow floundering, vexed by business or life conditions, and just needed a little clarity, direction, oomph, and encouragement. My background is in education, and as a school principal, I cultivated a desire to help others achieve their goals - this is what gets me out of bed each day: your success.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Like many small-business owners, I might be drawn to say "surviving the pandemic shutdown" or "hitting our revenue goals," though that only tells part of the story. We're most proud of the impact we've had in our client's lives, our ability to give back to local charities (10% of our revenue is donated, often to scholarships and children's causes), and our staunch focus on the successful outcomes of our partners' goals.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Our biggest challenge has been marketing, finding that sweet spot where folks with goals (potential clients) and folks with resources (us) intersect! It's a constant work in progress and something we pursue with vigor. If folks don't know about us and how we can help them, how can we get the word out more broadly?
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Find your passion. If you're going to commit to something, commit to something you love, so when times are tough, and income is lean, you have the inner drive to keep grinding.
- Remain flexible. We hear a lot about how important it is to be "nimble" in the work world, and it's true: times, needs, technology, opportunity...they all change faster than we can imagine, so it's important to be able to shift gears and adapt to the marketplace.
- Remember, it's not about you. Your work offers a service, a product, or some other deliverable to your clients. If you focus on your client's needs and how you can meet them, your work takes care of itself.
