Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Mariya Spasova, Founder of Spirituality in High Heels, located in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a femininity coach, and I offer workshops, online training, coaching programs, and a subscription model. My focus is busy, strong women who I am helping to feel feminine & juicy while still being in the pilot seat. It's all about balancing the feminine and the masculine gifts we have.

Tell us about yourself

I come from a long family line of teachers. For the past 15 years, I have been busy with personal development, and I've always been curious about people and who they truly are. When this all comes together, I think that coaching becomes a very natural choice. For years I was studying and working with energy till I read "Dear Lover" by David Deida. This book spoke very deeply to my heart and opened my curiosity about feminine energy. It helped me connect to my inner yearning, and I've started focusing on feminine energy in my life.

It was just a matter of a few weeks before I started dating my current partner and the father of my son. The depth of our connection was beyond anything I knew from previous relationships. I was completely in my feminine, I was able to fully relax with him, and I trusted his lead. My love and sex life completely transformed.

What I am sure of is that I had to be in my feminine energy for this masculine man to notice me and to be attracted to me. Since I have a lot of masculine energy in me, I have a drive, a strong ambition, clarity, direction, etc. I found that bringing more femininity into my day and life is the magic formula to have both success and fulfillment.

So, I decided that I want to help other strong and ambitious women to find their feminine bliss. For each of us, this looks a little bit different, but usually, with my clients, we are focusing on attracting a man of integrity and building a fulfilling relationship, feeling juicy and irresistible, being able to trust and receive, and/or be successful in their work without stress, exhaustion and burn out.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is that only with the help of my partner we've created a brand and automated many of the business processes. We've created two workshops, launched two successful online training and are now releasing a subscription model.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I can think of two things. I don't know which one is harder:

  1. At times, being a business owner can be lonely. I don't have many other entrepreneurs around me, and I miss brainstorming ideas, sharing a struggle, or celebrating a win with someone who has/had similar experiences.
  2. It takes time to see the fruits of my work. And this is normal, but sometimes when results don't come (quickly), I feel my motivation, determination, and consistency being tested.

I started my business 7 years ago, and after a little bit more than a year, I stopped because marketing and sales were too challenging for me. For the following 4 years (till I decided to start again with my coaching business), I had the feeling that I'd failed. My heart was longing to be a coach and to have my own business, but I was too afraid to start again. Anyways, 4 years later, my creative urges became stronger than my fears, and I launched my business again. Now I know that til I don't give up, I won't fail. This is a great motivation for me. I don't want to feel regret for not giving it all! So, in the hardest moments, this is what helps me regain strength and motivation to continue.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

When you are watching an interview with a successful actor, business owner, or athlete... and they ask them, "what is needed to succeed?", usually you hear "a lot of hard work." Only after being few years in business did I realize how much hard work is required. So, my 3 tips are:

  1. Know your "why" before you start and make sure that it is a strong one. It will keep you going in the hardest moments.
  2. Prepare for a looooot of hard work consistently.
  3. Find your sweet spot of balance - work hard, but also sleep enough, take care of your health and prioritize the important relationships in your life.
