Helping Sensitive Professionals - Spirit Panda Coaching
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Neftali Velez, Founder of Spirit Panda Coaching, located in Denver, CO, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Founded in 2016, SPC has been helping compassionate professionals develop a success mindset and acquire the life & self-regulating skills necessary to thrive. As a life & career coaching firm, we are trained to guide clients to a state of clarity and direction.
Tell us about yourself
I am Neftalí Velez, the founder of Spirit Panda Coaching, a firm dedicated to helping young adults create extraordinary careers and lives while leveraging the best of their sensitive temperaments. As an accomplished engineer and sales representative, I felt miserable and insecure in my first few jobs. I had the external badges of what success "should" look like, but I knew something was missing deep down. Frustrated with the nagging self-doubt, I turned to my highly intuitive and empathetic self-awareness skills to discover my true nature and the impact I was meant to make.
Today I use my engineering, sales, and coaching background to support young professionals in gaining clarity on what matters most and building the confidence to create the life they love. High sensitivity is a superpower that can be fine-tuned for creative energy and living life to the fullest.
I am bilingual (English and Spanish), hold a double B.S. in Civil Engineering and Land Surveying from the University of Puerto Rico, Campus of Mayagüez, and am a graduate of The Coaches Institute (CTI) from San Rafael, California, and ICF ACC certified. In addition, I am a certified ThetaHealer Practitioner and a trained Crisis Counselor. Originally from Canóvanas, Puerto Rico, I now reside in Denver, Colorado. I can cook for friends, travel far and wide, and be caught in deep thought and conversations about coaching and social activism.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
To help elevate human consciousness with my international wellness education platform while bringing coaching into schools to help disadvantaged teenagers has been my biggest joy.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Being a solopreneur is mentally challenging and, at times, isolating. It's essential to have a coach to help keep at bate the following:
- Procrastinating
- Perfectionism
- Inconsistency & burnout
- Overthinking & second guessing yourself
- Overwhelmed & underwhelm
- Imposter syndrome
- Removing distractions
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Only quit your job with a strategic business & financial plan.
- Establish a future date by which you will take action and launch your business.
- Find multiple sources of income to support your efforts by diversifying your income.
