What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a pediatric therapy practice offering occupational, speech, and feeding therapy services to children aged birth through adolescence. Our providers strive to provide our clients and families with the highest quality, evidence-based services. It is our mission to provide the children and families we serve with the necessary support and tools that will lead to success and self-confidence. We guide and support families in managing their children’s challenges and celebrating their success every step of the way. Our therapy services are primarily provided in-clinic or via teletherapy.

Tell us about yourself

I am a speech/language pathologist by training. I was the director of a clinic for 5 years before I purchased and re-branded the clinic in January 2019. I love the feeling of being able to help children conquer their challenges and hiring wonderful employees where they feel supported, fulfilled, and able to use their talents as clinicians.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Growing the clinic to be able to provide more services to more children. Streamlining processes and procedures (also thank you, COVID) to being more efficient and online.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Always staying relevant, hiring and retaining top-performing employees.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

1. Be prepared to work HARD and A LOT! Owners live, eat, breathe, and sleep their business, especially in its infancy.
2. Be prepared to find a support network of people in your same boat; it's lonely at the top!
3. Learn to appreciate the positives, accept the negatives without being consumed by them, and learn from the challenges.
