What's your business, and who are your customers?

I have several businesses, the one I've been operating the longest is called SwagWorx (SwagWorx.com), and we serve corporate clients by creating mindful merch to represent their brand. What I'm most passionate about is the message of SOUL/Life Balance which prioritizes putting yourself first and foremost while simultaneously reframing one's relationship with how one to view work and the role it plays in their life.

Tell us about yourself

I started my first business at age 22, which was about 12 years ago - my motivation back then stemmed from my passion for positioning and branding. Napoleon Hill's classic book, "Think & Grow Rich," provided me with the playbook to keep going and find that motivation every day. Now that it's been so many years later, I have many motivators. I also have three businesses people SwagWorx.com, WizardTeams.com, and SoulLifeBalance.com, and each of these outlets fulfills my passions and needs on a daily basis.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being named to Silicon Valley's 40 under 40 list at age 31.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Staying organized and not letting things slip through the cracks, which is why I'm so passionate about teaching people how to build teams of remote freelancers.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. "Done is Better than Perfect" - just get started and stay diligent in quarterly updates.
  2. Create a Goals Poster or Vision Board.
  3. Build a team to support you so you can focus your time on your strengths while outsourcing for your weaknesses.
