What is it that your business does and who are your customers?
We work with content to get links to support long term search visibility. We work with companies in search competitive niches.
What's your background and motivation to get into the solopreneur life?
I never had an entrepreneurial bug to work for myself, but I went from freelancing to growing a company. I enjoy the work and like to see our content out in the world.
As an entrepreneur, what does success ultimately mean to you?
Financial independence.
What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run or grow a business today?
1) Service work isn't as glamorous as creating a product but it can teach you a ton and you get paid to learn.
2) Try to avoid hiring for as long as you can. It will add a ton of complexity and you can get it wrong easily.
3) Get a job in the industry you want to start your business. You will learn a ton and build connections that will help generate those initial customers.
If there was one thing you could do repeatedly day in day out to help grow your business then what would it be?
I like to keep my days pretty unique so nothing daily but I think you do need to look at your numbers and goals on weekly basis.
What are some of the things you put in place to maintain a healthy work/life balance and to keep it all together?
Meditate and lots of walks in the countryside.
Who are some of your favorite entrepreneurs and best business resources/books?
I'm a big fan of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and Traction.
For anyone looking to start a business today, what would be the number one bit of advice you'd give them?
