What's your business, and who are your customers?
I work in carbon markets, so I deal with people who are working on carbon projects and investors and traders who deal with carbon credits. I am the founder of Solid World, which provides infrastructure for forward carbon credits that helps fund new carbon projects to accelerate the fight against climate change.
Tell us about yourself
Solid World is actually not the first business I founded. I am also the co-founder of eAgronom, a company that helps farmers become carbon farmers. Through my work with these carbon farmers, I discovered some ways that carbon markets could be improved, so I formed Solid World to improve the infrastructure of these markets. Each day I am motivated to help heal the planet and stop climate change.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is creating a successful and sustainable business that has a positive impact on our planet and its people. I'm proud to have developed innovative solutions for reducing our carbon footprint, promoting renewable energy, and helping to protect our natural environment. Knowing that the work I'm doing is helping to make the world a better place gives me an immense sense of satisfaction.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things about being a business owner is making tough decisions. I'm constantly faced with difficult choices, and it can be a challenge to balance my values as an entrepreneur with the needs of my business. There are times when I have to make decisions that could have a negative impact on others, even though I'm committed to doing my best to make a positive impact. It's a difficult balancing act, but it's one that I'm passionate about, and I'm determined to make the right decisions for the long-term health of my business and the planet.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Stay focused on your mission: don't get distracted by the noise. Your mission is your guiding light, and it will help you stay on track and make the right decisions.
- Don't be afraid to ask for help: there are plenty of resources and people who can provide insights and advice to help you stay on the right path.
- Believe in yourself: it can be easy to get overwhelmed and discouraged, but remember that you're capable of achieving your goals. Believe in yourself, and you'll be able to make a real difference.
