What's your business, and who are your customers?

Socially Stetson is a full-service social media marketing agency and consulting firm. Not only do we work with clients who want social media done for them, but we also have a monthly membership ($37/month) where we teach entrepreneurs how to leverage and use social media themselves to grow their businesses.

Tell us about yourself

I work to live, not live to work. I love owning my own business and having the freedom and flexibility to work wherever I am. My love for social media all started when I fell in love with Tom from MySpace, man I miss him! After that, I worked on the side helping small businesses while I kept pursuing 9-5 jobs. One day I finally realized that God had given me a gift, and I needed to pursue it. I'm motivated to keep going every day because I have big dreams for my life, and I love knowing that my talents are helping other businesses grow.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would say my biggest accomplishment as a business owner is keeping God first. It can be hard to have your priorities straight when you want to work 24/7. There is always something to do and emails to answer. I'm glad that I wake up each morning reading scripture and getting my mindset ready for the day.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things for me is "turning it off." Because my business can be done fully from my phone, it's hard to put it down or not look at it sometimes. I know it probably drives my family nuts.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

My top 3 tips for anyone looking to start a business today would be:

Does this job align with my priorities and morals in life? If so, map out what your dream job would look like. Journal daily to make sure you are focusing on your priorities.
Read books! Read, read, read, and always study to stay up to date.
Just know that you are going to want to give up and quit at least 3x a day. This is normal. Just keep going.
