Naturally Simple - Soap Bullet

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal care but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Bozana Anicic, Owner of Soap Bullet, located in Mentor, OH, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business, called Soap Bullet, is a liquid and foaming hand soap concentrate that is healthy for your skin and the environment. My product focuses on having a truly green product where all ingredients are 100% biodegradable and safe for your skin. My customers are vivid ingredient readers (understand which ingredients are non-toxic), search for plastic-free products, are trying to lessen their carbon footprint, and really want to keep our waterways clean.

Tell us about yourself

I created Soap Bullet after I realized that all the liquid and foaming soaps on the market today contain toxic chemicals that pollute our planet and make us sick. Even those so-called green soaps have ingredients that do not biodegrade and only get recycled back into the food we eat!

My motivation comes purely from the fact that with my product, you are “Saving the planet with each hand wash”!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is my product and being a solopreneur, everything from starting a business to creating my own product line from my own research and formulating. I love that I am the sole creator of my products. That from my own hands, I create every Bullet that will be in someone's bathroom or kitchen sink that wants to save the planet with every hand wash!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing that I have found being a business owner is being a solopreneur. It is time-consuming figuring everything out on your own, failing multiple times, and having no one to talk to who understands.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. It is not easy, and you will fail a lot, but all those failures are learning experiences that take you to the next level.
  2. Find yourself a support group. Just some people that are entrepreneurs that are not your family and friends. These people can help guide you or give you a lending ear when you need it.
  3. Read! There are so many amazing books out there that have been written to help you on your business journey.
