What's your business, and who are your customers?
Small Magic Birth is a well-woman care practice. I am a traditional midwife, functional medicine practitioner, childbirth educator, yoga teacher, and women's movement specialist.
Tell us about yourself
When I was younger, I was in a car accident, which changed the trajectory of my life completely. Through this healing, I learned about my female physiology, and now I share these teachings with women to heal from pain. During this time, I also was asked to start attending births; the more I did, the more I learned, the more I learned, the more I did. I'm motivated each day by the many women's healing stories that had come to be in pain and have since healed their bodies through understanding their unique female physiology.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Growing a business that supports other women with like-minded values and who can pay their salaries, as well as growing a network of home-birthing women in my community.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
As a business owner, I've had to learn how not to get burnt out and how to balance work and life.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
