Then read up on our interview with Mary Rodgers, owner of Slow and Steady - Practicing Eternity. She is a certified and licensed complementary health care professional providing home-based and mobile wellness services in Quechee, Vermont, USA.

What's your business and who are your customers?

I am a healer, and also an artist that is stepping back from my practice to focus on my product line and art.

Tell us about yourself

I started my business 16 years ago, I have recently changed the name of my business, from Your Authentic Self to Slow and Steady, practicing eternity.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

It depends on what you consider success. I would do my work for free because I love it so much! I have several clients that I see once a month for the maintenance of their health. My focus has recently changed when we were all hit with the pandemic. I get paid to touch people. It was painful emotionally, and physically being cut off from those you are helping. I don't think I have seen the success of my business yet.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Well, for being in and out of a coma for 3 1/2 months, two grueling years of rehab. Learning how to walk and talk again. Go back to school eventually, and become a healing practitioner.

If there was one thing you could do repeatedly to help grow your business, what would it be?

This is new territory for me because I am doing my work more privately, and independently, and in my home. So I'm not exactly sure what that is going to look like. I will be launching a new line of gifts — healing boxes perhaps launched before Christmas. I am collecting items that I make, and that others make, and providing healing through the products, and the handpicked heal gifts.
