What's your business, and who are your customers?

We provide home interior design services for our customers in Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune. Our customers primarily are families who have bought a home recently. Through our own experience centers, we showcase our offerings to customers and help them get their own dream homes.

Tell us about yourself

I am an ex-serviceman who did my MBA and then joined FMCG, but I always wanted to set up something of my own. I got into different businesses and finally settled with interior design services around 10 years back. The fact that we are able to provide amazing services at unbeatable prices to all our customers is a great motivation and helps us to continue day in and day out.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

A successful business requires happy customers who are willing to refer you to anyone who asks. The biggest achievement for us is having a huge group of such happy customers who actually refer us even after several years have passed between the work and reference.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I believe cash flow management is the hardest thing for any business owner. It is not a typical core business requirement since you are more interested in ensuring things like sales and services, but it can easily make or break any business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Keep your own income separate from business. Do not confuse the two, or you will be stuck with no money anywhere.
Marketing comes first. If that is not happening, there is no point in having a great product or service to sell. Work on marketing, and do not let it go.
Focus on your team. Train them. Guide them. Make them work. No company can become great unless the team is great, and an entrepreneur is the best person to train a great team.
